To Preserve a Pure Tradition
Dorje Shugden is an enlightened being who is a manifestation of the wisdom Buddha Je Tsongkhapa. It is commonly believed that this Dharma Protector appeared after the politically motivated murder of the great Lama Tulku Dragpa Gyaltsen in 1656. It has been clarified by many great Buddhist masters that Dorje Shugden and Je Tsongkhapa are the same mental continuum, meaning one being but a different aspect.
The primary function of Dorje Shugden to protect the very pure and precious Buddhadharma that was taught by Je Tsongkhapa. Dorje Shugden works tirelessly to prevent the Ganden Oral Lineage of Je Tsongkhapa from degenerating, particularly by protecting it from contamination b by politics. Dorje Shugden benefits this world by pacifying obstacles, gathering necessary conditions, and bestowing powerful blessings to increase the wisdom, compassion and spiritual power of practitioners of Je Tsongkhapa’s doctrine.
