Western Shugden Society Aims
To Free Buddhism from Politics

The ban on Dorje Shugden practice is political. By fabricating an “internal enemy” of one section of his own Tibetan people - Shugden practitioners - the Dalai Lama has been able to distract attention from his “Free Tibet” diplomatic failure. Additionally, by banning and slandering a popular practice of the largest Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the Gelug school, the resultant disharmony and division is intended to enable the Dalai Lama to gain control over it. It is commonly recognized that this is part of his plan to meld together the four great traditions of Tibetan Buddhism and position himself as the supreme leader.
