WSS Protest against Dalai Lama

The Western Shugden Society is the international coalition of practitioners of the enlightened Deity Dorje Shugden. We have organised ourselves to respond to the persecution of Shugden practitioners orchestrated by the Dalai Lama. Through our activities we hope to accomplish four aims:
  • To liberate millions of innocent practitioners of the Buddhist Deity Dorje Shugden and their families from suffering
  • To restore peace and harmony between Shugden and non-Shugden pracitioners
  • To re-establish the common spiritual activities of Shugden and non-Shugden practitioners
  • To free Buddhism from political pollution

The 14th Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama

What lies behind the mask?

So far the international community has had no opportunity to receive clear and true information about Tibetan ruling lamas in general, nor about this present Dalai Lama in particular, who keeps the name of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion, whilst harming peoples’ spiritual life and causing suffering to millions of innocent people. It is for these reasons that the Western Shugden Society has prepared this website to provide this information, and we hope that the world’s media will investigate more fully and publicise the issues raised here.

Whether or not the present Dalai Lama is the real Dalai Lama – a true embodiment of Buddha’s compassion – should be judged not on the Dalai Lama’s words or on the mystique surrounding his position, but by his actions. And on the evidence presented in this website the Dalai Lama’s actions have fallen short of even ordinary standards of decent behaviour let alone the enlightened actions of a Buddha. In democratic countries, Presidents and Prime Ministers are held accountable for the actions of their ministers, their governments and the politicians and political parties that support them. In the same way the Dalai Lama bears direct or indirect responsibility for all of the harmful actions described on this site because they were carried out by him personally or on his behalf. He, and he alone, should be held to account for these actions and for their consequences.

Dorje Shugden

Dorje Shugden

Wisdom Buddha Dorje Shugden

In March 1996, in an aggressive and threatening manner, the Dalai Lama stated that there would be a forceful implementation of the ban against those who persisted in the practice of Dorje Shugden. Vigilante mobs of fanatical followers of the Dalai Lama, acting in the spirit of his public pronouncements, stormed into temples and private homes, seizing and destroying pictures and statues of Dorje Shugden – even taking them from shrines. Mobs attacked Dorje Shugden practitioners and their homes with stones and petrol bombs, destroying their possessions and threatening their lives.

People lost their jobs, children were expelled from schools, and monks were expelled from monasteries; foreign travel permits and visas were denied; refugee aid, monastic stipends and allowances were cut off; and forced signature campaigns were undertaken. In these and many other ways that made Tibetans outcasts from their own already exiled community, the Dalai Lama, in the guise of his government, ministers and associated organisations, introduced a reign of terror against tens of thousands of his own people, making restrictions similar to those imposed on the Jewish people in Germany in the early years of Hitler’s rule.
