Lehigh University, Pennsylvania - Day 2
As thousands of people filed into the Lehigh arena to listen to a man some believe to be a manifestation of enlightened compassion, they passed a vocal group who understand all too well the dark truth behind the facade of the Dalai Lamas public image.
About half of the 300 strong protestors were exiled Tibetans who carry with them first hand experience of the harm perpetrated by the Dalai Lama on his own Tibetan-in-exile community in particular and the international Buddhist community in general. For these protestors this day was on one hand an energetic, enthused and joyful occasion which offered a rare opportunity to make their voices heard, and on the other there were moments of sadness and painful reflection as memories of humanitarian abuses, unimaginable to most people returned to the fore.
The thin veneer of the Dalai Lama’s lies was torn away today by the raw experience and sincere pleas of the brave protestors who know all to well the real nature of this smiling tormentor. You cannot tell a monk who was expelled from his monastery for following the advice of his Guru that this action was perpetrated by a compassionate mind. You cannot tell a mother who barely escaped a mob, incited to violence by the Dalai Lamas own words, that theses words arose from compassion. The world is watching.
